The warning concerns the e-filing procedure for VAT refunds in the European Union following Brexit, urging companies to submit all claims before Feb 28th.

The French Tax Office has today sent an urgent communication to all French based companies with EU/UK refund claims e-filed via the French e-portal regarding changes of French Member State of Establishment (MSE) /UK Refund claims e-filing under a "No Deal" scenario.
The communication confirms that there will be no e-filing of UK Member State Refund (MSR) claims after 29.3.2019.
"In the absence of an agreement on the exit of the United Kingdom from the European Union between the 28 Member States by March 29, 2019, your steps will be modified."

The communication advises that if your company wishes to file a claim for VAT reimbursement for expenses incurred in the United Kingdom, for 2018, it must imperatively do so via the e-filing refund procedure before March 29, 2019, instead of September 30, 2019 .
The French tax office further warns it is strongly recommended that you file your reimbursement claims for expenses incurred in the United Kingdom on the French portal impots.gouv.fr before February 28, 2019.
As of March 30, 2019, claims for reimbursement can no longer be transmitted via the French portal to the United Kingdom and must be submitted directly to the UK authorities in accordance with the terms and conditions set by the United Kingdom. The transmitted requests will not be able to be followed from the French portal since March 30, 2019.
