The meeting place of many star-crossed lovers in some Hollywood movies, this suspension bridge lies over the East River, connecting south-eastern Manhattan with western Brooklyn in New York City. Taking over 11 years to build, this bridge consists of a double-decker motorway, carries four subway lines, a pedestrian lane and a separate bikeway. The traffic on this bridge may not be interesting, but it does give a fantastic back-drop to any selfie!
Statue of Liberty
It is vital that during your visit to New York you will visit the woman herself - Statue of Liberty. This is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbour. The copper statue was a gift from the people of France to the people of the United States – dedicated on October 28th, 1886. The statue is an icon of freedom and can be visited by ferry to the island, allowing you to appreciate it in real-life instead of just seeing it in movies.
