Explore Boston at GBTA

GBTA 2017 is upon us! This weekend our team will travel to Boston, Massachusetts, one of the largest business travel events in the world. Not only do we get to experience the buzz of GBTA, but we also get the chance to take in the attractions Boston has to offer. From historical landmarks that fill American history books, to beautiful gardens full of blossoming flowers, Boston is definitely one not to miss.

While you’re at GBTA this year, take the chance to get to know the city! Take a look below at some ways you can spend your time exploring Boston.

Fenway Park

You will not want to miss the chance to set foot in Fenway Park, home to the Boston Red Sox since 1912. We’d recommend trying to catch a game of America’s favorite past time, whether it’s to admire the skill of the game, the ballpark’s beautiful original architecture or even if it is just to see the 37-foot-tall left field wall, known as the “Green Monster”.

The Freedom Trail

Stretching across 2 ½ miles, this self-guided tour is one for those looking to scrub up on their American History. The tour includes the city’s most historical sites, including Paul Revere’s House and the Boston Common.

Boston Common

Starting off the Freedom Trail, you’ll get a chance to take in the beauty of the Boston Common. As the US's oldest city park, it’s full of history, from its beginning as a cow pasture in the mid-1600s, to then becoming a British camp. Picnics in the park in the middle of summer with the family are ones to be loved, as well as the chance to go ice-skating on Frog Pond in the peak of the winter months. It’s the perfect way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life!

Paul Revere’s House

Another one for our history lovers. This historical landmark is home to where Paul Revere set of on his famous late night journey to warn colonists that, as the famous phrase goes – “The British are coming! The British are coming!” The house also gives a glimpse into life in the late 1700s, allowing you to admire the building’s original furnishings from the period the famous Revere silver, including a 900-pound bell in the back yard.

Boston Public Garden

Established in 1837, the Boston Public Park is America’s first public botanical garden. The beauty of the park really shines through with the variety and beautiful exotic trees and blooming flowers. The garden is also famous for its Swan Boat rides, are relaxed environment if you are in need of some down time on your trip.
